Out of the usual season, occasionally we get invited to winter weddings (or similar events).
And if its not easy to plan an outfit for a Spring/Summer event , we all know that this can be so much more difficult for winter time.
So today I'm going to help you resolve this problem , using what you already have in your closet and giving you some styling advice to glamorize it all!
Embora não seja a época habitual , casamentos de inverno (e outras celebrações religiosas) surgem ocasionalmente. E se na Primavera já não era fácil , escolher um outfit adequado ao tempo frio ainda se torna mais complicado!
Hoje o meu objectivo é ajudar-vos a ultrapassar este desafio , utilizando o que já existe no vosso armário e com algumas dicas de styling glamourizar um pouco!
1. RICH FABRICS
Lace , velvet , satin , taffeta ,sequins and brocade are all good options. If you find something like this on your wardrobe you have half of the problem solved.
Now you just have to create a look , adding some polished basics to the ensemble.
Tecidos luxuosos como o veludo , cetim , tafetá , renda , brocado e lantejoulas serão o foco principal.
Se encontrarem alguma peça nestes materiais , metade do problema fica resolvido.
Depois é só comporem um visual , acrescentando alguns básicos com óptimo aspecto ao conjunto.

2. DON'T PATRONIZE BLACK
I'm not saying you should use an all black look. But in winter we usually go for darker colors , so its allowed a little black...
As regras de etiqueta proíbem o preto em casamentos. E embora desaconselhe o look preto total , no Inverno temos tendência para optar por tons mais escuros logo uns pequenos apontamentos de preto são permitidos!

3. DON'T BE AFRAID OF COLOR
Winter color pallet is very rich (and sometimes forgotten): burgundy (or marsala) , aubergine , saffron , richer shades of blue and green are all great options.
And you can mix them with neutrals (camel , metallics , nude and black) for a very classy look.

A paleta de cores de Inverno é bastante rica e muitas vezes esquecida. Cores como Beringela , Marsala , Açafrão e todos os tons saturados de Azul e Verde são óptimas escolhas.
Para um visual muito chique basta misturá-las com neutros como: Camel , Nude , Metálicos ou Preto.
4. DARK FLORALS ARE BEAUTIFUL
A personal favourite of mine. I love dark florals because they are girly but not too much , they bring some color but have a dark base , so it´s always a sophisticated choice.
Este é um dos meus padrões preferidos para o Inverno! Porque é feminino mas não demasiado , e inclui um pouco de cor mas a base é escura , resultando sempre uma escolha sofisticada.

5. TAKE OUT YOUR FÛR COAT
It's the perfect occasion to take out your fûr! They add the right amount of glamour to any outfit.
So don't be shy and take them to the party!
You can also look for alternative options in your mother's , sister or best friend closets.
É a ocasião perfeita para usar um casaco de pêlo! São essenciais para acrescentar aquele toque de glamour ao visual, não sejam tímidas e levem-nos convosco.
Podem sempre procurar alternativas no armário da Mãe , irmã ou melhor amiga , e isto vale também para acessórios!

6. PANTS CAN BE WEDDING APPROPRIATE
It's cold outside and you don't want to wear a dress ? It's OK to wear pants, but they have to be super stylish!
Try a silk/velvet version or a sexy jumpsuit. As long as you keep it day appropriate ( avoid the going out look) and feminine it will work fine.
Está muito frio lá fora e não apetece usar saias? PODEM usar calças , desde que sejam muito chiques!
Experimentem umas calças em seda/veludo ou então um macacão. Desde que não seja um conjunto para sair á noite, e que o visual se mantenha muito feminino, vai resultar muito bem.

A great coat can make a simple outfit pop. And in an outdoors event you will be wearing it most of the time...
If your dress has a big print or loud colors go with a more simple/neutral outwear.
In the other hand , if you have a beautifully brocade/embelished coat , let it be the center of attention. Combine with a simple outfit and accessories for a very elegant attire.
Um casaco fantástico pode fazer um conjunto brilhar. Principalmente se estivermos a falar de um evento ao ar livre, pois vai usá-lo a maior parte do tempo...
Se o vestido tiver um padrão forte ou muitas cores , a opção mais sensata é escolher um modelo mais simples/neutro.
Se pelo contrário , a escolha recair num casaco multi-colorido ou trabalhado , deixe-o ser o centro das atenções e combine-o com peças e acessórios muito simples , para um resultado muito elegante.

Even if you don't have any events planed for the near future , you can always use these ideas for a more elaborate anniversary party or maybe for a Valentines Day Dinner!
